The Universally Accessible Cheaper and Quality Medicines of 2008 (Cheaper Medicine Act) authored by Sen. Manuel Roxas II and signed by Pres. Gloria Arroyo as RA 9502, provides safeguard to prevent the proliferation of fake drugs. The effectivity of this law was declared on August 15, 2009. St. Paul’s Hospital Iloilo is the first hospital to honor the said law which can help in buying in affordable prices.
